Memphis Depay has finalised his transfer from Manchester United to Lyon, the Ligue 1 club hasÂconfirmed on Twitter. What’s the latest? The Dutchman agreed to join the French outfit earlier this week after falling out of favour at United. The Telegraph reportsÂthat the Red Devils have accepted a £16m bid, which could rise to £21.7m, which would be around £3m shy of the figure that they paid PSV Eindhoven to sign him in 2015.
During his time at United, Depay made 33 Premier League appearances and scored five goals in all competitions.
In the current campaign, manager Jose Mourinho made it clear that the winger was not part of his plans, as the player featured just four times in the league and all of those appearances came from the substitutes bench.

Will Depay ever return to United?
Never say never, particularly if reports are to be believed that the Red Devils have agreed a buy-back clause.
The Telegraph, among numerous publications, have claimed that an agreement is in place for United to have an option to re-sign Depay if he performs well in France.
Mourinho himself has suggested that the winger could find his way back to Old Trafford.
When it was put to the Portuguese coach that United have some security in the deal – relating to the buy-back clause – heÂtold reporters:
“Of course because potentially he is a very good player.ÂHe didn’t succeed in this 18 months, I would say, but he is very young so I think it is important for the club to keep control of this talent.
“And we all wish that he plays very, very well at Olympique Lyon and why not to come back because everyone here likes him.”
