Leeds United haven’t had the best of luck with injuries so far this season, and unfortunately, the Whites’ misfortune in that department doesn’t look like stopping anytime soon.
What’s the story then?
With Ezgjan Alioski, Liam Cooper, Adam Forshaw and Jamie Shackleton all sidelined, the last thing Leeds would have wanted was another injury.
Unfortunately, it seems as if their worst nightmares have come true as Stuart Dallas pulled out of Northern Ireland’s clash with Germany due to a hamstring problem.
It’s unknown how long the 28-year-old will be out for, but his absence could have implications on a number of players in the squad.
Dallas’ absence
With the Northern Irishman being such a utility man his removal from the squad will have big consequences on a number of different positions.
For a start, it means that Marcelo Bielsa will have to make a tough call between Barry Douglas and Leif Davis at left-back, while it also means that Luke Ayling will have to play on the right rather than continuing his spell as a centre-back.
In the midfield, it will also have some implications as well. This injury leaves Tyler Roberts and Mateusz Klich as the only fit central midfielders in the squad, so Bielsa’s hands are rather tied in that department.
It’s a huge blow to lose Dallas, and it will certainly be interesting to see how Bielsa’ rejigs the squad in his absence.
