After an essential win at the weekend, Leeds United go up against Reading in a game where Marcelo Bielsa will be looking to make it two wins in a row.
It’s been a tough few weeks for Leeds United as Bielsa’s side has struggled with injuries of late and have lost multiple key players.
At the weekend, Bielsa was forced to play Will Huffer in goal due to injuries to Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Jamal Blackman. In defence, the Argentine was forced to play fellow academy man, Aapo Halme in defence due to injuries to Pontus Jansson and Gaetano Berardi.
Ahead of tomorrow’s game, Bielsa provided an update on the club’s current injury crisis and revealed that Bailey Peacock-Farrell will return to the side while Aapo Halme will continue in defence tomorrow night.
The Breakdown
Leeds go up against a side that has only won two of their last six games and have also conceded 29 goals in the league. Away from home Reading have been one of the worst sides in the league and have only won one game out of the nine they’ve played.
With all that considered, it would seem that this is the ideal time for a young defender to play in defence but as we enter a period where Leeds will have to play seven games in just over a month, Bielsa will need to have the likes of Berardi and Jansson back as soon as possible.
