John Terry surprised plenty when he signed a one-year contract with Aston Villa following his release from Chelsea at the end of last season.
There were eyebrows raised when the former England captain arrived at Villa Park, but he has proved to be an inspiration for a club that are fighting for promotion back to the top flight.
The 37-year-old has scored once in 28 Championship appearances for Steve Bruce’s side this season having been made captain of the club.

Terry’s current deal with Villa will expire at the end of this season, but it has been suggested that the centre-back is keen to pen an extension, regardless of how the campaign ends.
The Villa supporters are delighted to hear such news as it had been thought that the defender, who is valued at £900k by transfermarkt.co.uk, would hang up his boots once the 2017-18 campaign had been completed.
