According to reports in The Telegraph, West Ham United are targeting a move for Stoke City right-back and former Hammers man Glen Johnson this summer.
The 32-year-old looks set to leave the Britannia Stadium on a free transfer at the end of the season after failing to make the 25 Premier League appearances that would have triggered an extension to his contract during the campaign.
Now the Irons, along with top flight rivals Crystal Palace, are said to be considering bringing the full-back to the capital, although they may have to match his current £60,000-a-week wages he is on with the Potters.
The former England international made 16 appearances for the club in the 2002/03 campaign, but after they were relegated to the Championship he joined Chelsea.
West Ham supporters were quick to have their say with the link to their former player via social media, with the majority not wanting Johnson to return to east London.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction to the rumour…
