Today is the day all Leeds United fans have been waiting for, with new investor Andrea Radrizzani seemingly waning Massimo Cellino’s eternal stranglehold on the Yorkshire club.
Indeed, Cellino’s off-pitch antics, bizarre appointments and sackings have been intertwined with the Whites’ continued struggles on the pitch over the last few seasons as the once top-flight mainstays continue to yearn for Premier League football.
But their controversial owner is now facing an 18-month ban from all football-related activity and that appears to have convinced him to relinquish some control over the club, selling 50% of his stake to countryman Andrea Radrizzani.
I know what you’re thinking – another Italian businessman can’t be the greatest of news for Leeds. But anything’s better than an uncontested Cellino pulling all the strings and needless to say, Whites fans are pretty chuffed with today’s news.
