Newcastle do not want to sell Trippier, as manager Eddie Howe continues to view him as an important leader in the dressing room. Trippier is now 34 but he remained a key cog in Howe's machine last season, making 32 appearances in all competitions, although only 14 of those came as starts in the Premier League.
