Arsenal’s search for a new manager has taken in names like Nuno Espirito Santo, Massimiliano Allegri and Mikel Arteta, but fans are not too keen on the latter taking over.
The Spaniard played for the Gunners for five years, even captaining the side, and despite undergoing a few years of tutillage under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City he is still not highly regarded by some supporters.
Part of the reasoning for that may be his lack of experience in a coaching capacity, as making the step up from a coach to the manager of one of the biggest clubs in Europe, which is also in need of a bit of a rebuild according to Gary Neville, is quite a tough ask.
One fan has suggested the club should instead for Brendan Rodgers, who has also been linked and was also rumoured before Unai Emery took the reigns.
All the managers mentioned above have some level of coaching success on their CV as the main man at their club, and that is where Arteta may have failed to win over some fans.
