According to IndyKaila news on Twitter, Crystal Palace are allegedly interested in Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater, and lots of Eagles fans are largely split on the potential of the 29-year-old arriving at Selhurst Park.
The three-time England international moved to Stamford Bridge from Leicester City in the summer of 2017, but he has only made 23 appearances in all competitions for the west London outfit since having found himself largely out of favour under both Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri.
In 2018/19, his only minutes on the pitch came in the Community Shield against Manchester City where he appeared for 30 minutes, while aside from being an unused substitute against Cardiff City in the league and Derby County in the EFL Cup, he failed to make a single matchday squad.

Palace being interested in the 2016 Premier League winner would be something of a surprise given the options they currently have in the middle of the park – Luka Milivojevic, James McArthur, Cheikhou Kouyate, Jeffrey Schlupp and Max Meyer are all capable of playing in the centre in either of Roy Hodgson’s preferred formations – 4-3-3 or 4-4-2.
Another potential issue could be Drinkwater’s reported £120,000-a-week wages, while the fact that he started Frank Lampard’s first match in charge on Wednesday suggests he may have been thrown an unlikely Chelsea lifeline.

Eagles supporters on Twitter certainly seem undecided on the midfielder, with one labelling him as a “BTEC Max Meyer”, but another disagreeing and saying they “would love this”.
