Karnataka completed the formalities and notched up a nine-wicket win over Kerala in their Ranji Trophy league match at Bangalore on Friday.The home side put up 342 for their first-innings total; the overnight score was advanced largely by a whirlwind 43 off 56 balls from Dodda Ganesh lower down the order. He was the ninth wicket to fall, with the score on 338 after striking seven fours and ensured a first-innings lead of more than 100 runs.Ganesh then swung into action with the ball as well. Along with seam-mate Venkatesh Prasad, Ganesh ripped through the Kerala batting, ending with 4-47. Prasad, at the other end, took 4-31 off 20 overs. Shepherding their side from a tottering position, each of them scored hundreds and put on 290 runs for the fifth wicket. Vinay Kumar made 126 off 298 balls, with 14 fours and a six, while Yadav scored 155 off 306 balls, with 18 fours and two sixes.Hyderabad thus made 400 in their first innings, leaving Goa with a deficit of 94 runs. Playing out 11.3 overs at the end of Day Three, Goa’s openers took their side to 28 for no loss by the close of play.
